Last night’s live wedding painting! What a beautiful night!
I titled this one ‘Describing Love’. I got it framed for the show, because I wanted people to see what the abstracts on paper looked like framed. I was attached to this painting since the second I finished it. I got more attached to it after seeing it framed. I almost couldn’t put it up for sale because of the connection. But I did. People came up to me at the show saying how much they felt this piece, which I was so happy to hear. I ended up selling it, because as artists we are here to express whatever we feel the urge to, to inspire people. The client who bought this one felt it immediately when he saw it. He is surprising his wife with it, because of what he felt and also the title pretty much explains it ☺️. I took it home after the show and put it in my house for a couple days before delivery (made me more attached!) But it’s a reminder that art is about giving ourselves. We must practice non-attachment. It makes me happy, that this piece of art will make others happy and feel the love! —— Now that the show is over, I want to dive into more abstracts on paper. I want them to be about emotions. I will keep y’all posted on new work! Excited to keep this momentum going 💫
A peony from the garden, along with a peony painting that was in progress! I’m here at @popuptowncolumbus getting everything set up for tomorrow and I am so excited! I have only shared a few images of paintings, as I want the show to have somewhat of a surprise/fresh feeling to it! So there is a lot of paintings you have never seen before, which I think makes it even more fun! See y’all tomorrow!! 💫
All the new paintings are florals, landscapes, and hummingbirds. It’s unplanned, but now looking at the collection, it’s perfect. They celebrate the happiness and colorfulness of spring. I painted every painting outside, soaking up this beautiful season. Whether sunny, rainy, or a brief cold front I have been on the porch painting since the first pollen fell. Being outside does something the soul and I feel as though it reflects in all the new paintings. Looking at the paintings makes me feel happy, just like how all the blooming flowers and green glow that is surrounding us does. I can’t wait for the show and for you to see all the new paintings! ———— May 2nd, 4-8pm @popuptowncolumbus // Live music by Paul Nelson and band, who are coming down from Nashville, starts at 7pm!
