“Both yoga and art aim at the same thing, that is, to re-establish our personal connection with the world around us according to our own inner creativity. To render body and mind a conduit through which the creative energy can flow freely, unimpeded by outer restrictions, in trust that this energy, being apart of the universal energy, is ultimately pure and joyful!”

My eye is very sensitive to light and color. I am inspired by light and it’s aesthetic relationship with color in mundane scenes. With oil paint as my central medium, I enjoy painting people, animals, landscapes, and still lifes. My paintings evolve around the evanescence of time and the uniqueness’s of short- lived experiences and moments. They develop as light advances on its object and in its environment. My paintings are an opportunity to visually intake the unacknowledged, yet distinguishable, beauty of entity.

Personal Bio:

For as long as I remember I have expressed myself through art. My grandmother, an artist, had me painting and drawing as soon as I could hold a paintbrush. Born and raised in Columbus Georgia, I continued on to the University of Mississippi where art grew from passion into a personal connection and commitment. Under the tutelage of Phillip Jackson, I discovered that there was nothing that I would rather do than paint. Ready for new culture and worldly influence, I lived in Florence Italy where I continued to study painting, drawing, and art history. I finished my degree at the University of Mississippi, receiving my Bachelors in Fine Art with an emphasis in painting. After graduating, I moved back to Columbus Georgia where I became studio assistant for Bo Bartlett and Betsy Eby. Being around them and surrounded by their art everyday was beyond inspirational. I am so blessed for my time with them and everything they taught me.

One thing about me, is I love moving. Each city and town I move to challenges me to grow personally and art wise. From Columbus GA, to Oxford MS, to Florence Italy, to Charleston SC, back to Columbus GA, to Denver, to Nashville, and now grounding down in Taos New Mexico. Every place I live, creates a new chapter which I hold dearly to my heart. I pulled into it for the very first time without having of ever heard of this placeI had never felt so called to a place. I have never experienced colors, nature, landscape, culture, and people like Taos. This town is everything I've dreamed of and more. I am filled with gratitude to be able to do what I love in a place that inspires and excites me everyday.
